“Fairy Tale”

Friday, September 8th, 2006

Dang this track brings back so many memories, but anyway this was made for Ashley Tisdale when she was just about to sign with Warner. She was on Disney at the time, so I came up with this “Disneyish” beat. I honestly like this track alot. Ashley hated it. Oh well, her stupid album flopped anyway.

“The Slave Project” - Track 3

Tuesday, August 8th, 2006

This song went through countless of demo singers before I gave it to O’so Krispie and she did an excellent job on it. We demoed up the song but decided not to release it. It’s a really good track though. I’ll post the one with the vocal later. Created on Fruity Loops. “The Slave Project” tracks were the last songs I created on Fruity Loops I think before switching over to Logic Pro. Haven’t used FL since :(

I was in Philadelphia at the time when she recorded in Atlanta. After 6 hours of recording she gives me a call and says

“OMG I just finished recording. The song sounds awesome! But…”
“But…”
“I sang it in a different key… Like it doesn’t match.”
“WHY THE F*** DID YOU SING IT IN THE WRONG KEY???”
“I dunno…Should I re-record it?”
“YA THINK???!!!”

hahahaha good times!

“Like That 2.0″

Thursday, December 8th, 2005

One day I decided to message Jeffree Star saying “lets do a track, take a listen to this…” This chick gets flooded with comments and emails but to my surprise, she replied saying “This is hot sh*t let’s record.” We throw emails back and forth between her, her manager, and I planning stuff… But then they both disappear LOL Dude seriously 2005 was definitely not my good year!

“Like That” was originally made for Ciara back in ‘04, it sounded more Lil Jonnish though. (Read about it here). But that fell through as well. However, “Like That” ended up being my biggest “Rejected beat” money maker in 2006-08 getting crap load of TV placements from independent movies to MTV.

PS: Jefree Star is a cunt

“Truth” Lyrics

Artist: Russ Castella Ft. Elissa
Title: Truth
Written By: Elissa

Elissa

I remember making love to you
For the first time
You said you never leave now look at you
You change your mind
But now you’’re gone I don’’t know what to
do
I’’m so lonely
And for the last time let me say to you

[Chorus] What do I have to do,
To make you see that I’’m the truth?
Now don’’t you walk away,
This life was meant for me and you [x2]

I remember falling down to you
When you said bye
I thought I held your heart now look at you
You made me cry
It’’s been so long, will you come back to me?
Without your games
But tell me will it ever be the same?

[Chorus] What do I have to do?
To make you see that I’’m the truth
Now don’’t you walk away
This life was meant for me and you [x2]

All and all, it’s in my mind
Thought you’’d be here all the time
Fact or fiction, don’’t be blind
You know I’’m the truth

[Chorus] What do I have to do?
To make you see that I’’m the truth
Now don’’t you walk away
This life was meant for me and you [x2]

The Whistle Ballad

Another failing attempt with Def Jam in 2005. There was a new artist they just signed. I don’t remember the name but they were looking for southern type of beat. Recorded the song. Def Jam ended up dropping him. Project gone into pooper. Fun fun.

“Lost In Translation”

Tuesday, June 7th, 2005

“Lost In Translation” was produced in summer 2005 sometime. Used my usual Fruity Loops & 3OSC. Also, I think this is the first track that I used Absynth on. The percussion that you hear in the background that sounds like a bongo drum is actually a synth. lol

Song didn’t go anywhere. Shopped it to Def Jam only I think, got rejected…boo hoo.

“Pass The Dutchie”

Wednesday, May 18th, 2005

Man, 2005 was just a horrible year for me with luck…
This screamed “Missy Elliot & Ludacris” to me so I pitched it to her label. The A&R at the time really liked it and was just about to finalize the deal, but he then got fired. The new A&R wasn’t too crazy about the song so it fell through. I’m not really into remaking old songs but the original is amazing. This beat samples Musical Youth - Pass The Dutchie.
